Amy Boatner Jeffrey
Amy serves as VP of Client Services for Patent GC LLC and its sister organization, Outside GC LLC, and also as an attorney on our team.
Amy is a versatile and skilled executive business attorney with in-house, law firm and financial management experience in the healthcare, life sciences and medical device industries. She is recognized consistently by clients for the ability to collaborate proactively with C-Level management and business partners to achieve practical results and explain complex legal issues and solutions clearly and concisely.
Amy’s comprehensive and diverse legal experience includes Complex Commercial Transactions, Contracts, and Joint Ventures (including healthcare transactions and JVs involving referral sources), Corporate Governance, Mergers & Acquisitions, Multi-level Secured Corporate Finance and Recapitalizations, Commercial Leasing, Construction and Build-out issues, Operational and Clinical Issues, Regulatory Compliance (Anti-Kickback, Stark, HIPAA), Insurance Claims and Settlements, and Employment Disputes.
Most recently, Amy served as Deputy General Counsel at American Renal Associates (NYSE: ARA) where she was responsible for all commercial finance matters and working capital needs for over 210 individually owned outpatient dialysis clinics. Amy provided strategic and tactical advice and guidance as member of finance leadership team. She also focused heavily on real estate leasing, construction and operational issues and provided in-house support to all other areas of business, including clinical issues, regulatory compliance and HR/employment matters, investigations and wage garnishments.
Prior to working at American Renal, Amy served as General Counsel to KMC Systems, Inc., which is a medical contract manufacturing, engineering and design company that specializes in solving complex engineering and manufacturing challenges and successfully brings innovative, automated medical and life science instrumentation to market.
Amy began her career as an associate at Patton Boggs LLP where she represented major financial institutions, private equity funds, mezzanine funds, agent banks, and other institutional investors in connection with multi-level investments and financings. Amy has also served as Assistant General Counsel at US Airways where she assisted with finalizing and implementing the merger and subsequent corporate restructuring of America West Airlines and US Airways. She has also provided counsel and advice to developers of commercial, residential and mixed-use properties and to individual purchasers, lessors and lessees of real property throughout the Vail Valley.
Amy graduated cum laude from the University of Colorado at Boulder and earned her Juris Doctor from SMU Law School in Dallas, Texas, where she was member of SMU Law Review. She is admitted to practice law in Texas, Colorado and New Hampshire.
Amy is originally from Paris, Texas, and she currently resides in Stratham, New Hampshire, with her husband Brad, step-son William and the sweetest black lab in the world – Reilly. Amy loves to travel, take walks on the beach and go snow skiing with her family. Brad and Amy, however, spend most of their free time at the hockey rink watching Will develop his skating and stick handling skills.
